Fun Fact: During the honeymoon phase, your body experiences endorphins that gives you that “sensation” when you first begin dating. Your body or your relationship will not keep that sensation forever. It’s a natural scientific phenomenon.
Everything almost seems perfect during the honeymoon, right? Not saying that it goes down all bad from here, but the reality is more clearer than ever.
It’s always too good to be true until you recognize flaws, new patterns of behaviors, unexpected changes, the past, or even newly detected hidden features.
Fight or Flight is usually a returning question for most couples. Can I leave now while it’s soon or is it worth fighting for when the reality kicks in?
The dream was you’ll be around for a long time. The reality is life has turns in which you can’t be around all the time. Whether it’s long distance, work schedules, or even trying to get your life on track. The reality is we made a decision to work through it.
The dream was you were perfect. The reality is your energy was like no other and a vibe i wouldn’t change for the world.
The dream was you didn’t have flaws or no history. The reality was you had a past and secrets like we all do.
The dream was you were honest and didn’t make any mistakes. The reality is you are able to confront your mistakes and correct them.
The dream was you were able to talk to me everyday. The reality is you kept that same energy from the honeymoon and you remained consistent.
The dream was I felt that I’ve known you forever. The reality is you’ve shown me more in a short time frame than most show in a year or two.
The dream was we will never argue. The reality is we learned that communicating respectfully was effective and all we needed.
The dream was I’ll make this relationship the way i dreamed of. I’ll plan everything and spoil him. The reality is you reciprocated everything & took the initiative to make me happy, even during and after the honeymoon.
Wake up now.
In a perfect world, or a nice dream, everything feels perfect. The reality of it is, if you want it, you’ll do what it takes to keep it. The reality is, perfect is boring.
So fight or flight? Needless to say, the reality is WE decided to fight. I look forward to Phase 3 and BEYOND. ️
