For thinking about the moment, and not our future

Because I was only fulfilling my needs

For being naïve and selfish

Taking away your innocence

Before you had the chance to make your own choices and take risks

You still had your time to grow

And for me taking it too slow.

It was reality for the both us.

I apologize for altering your future

And for playing with mines.

Hearing your heartbeat

And letting the tears fall and creating the heartaches

I apologize for doing what was best

For letting you avoid the hateful, cruel and jealous world

For not hoping you and I could make it.

I apologize for letting them do it

But I also would’ve apologize years later

For not being able to explain my regrets, tears and pain.
